On May 27th, I was granted the privilege of capturing Emily and Adam’s absolutely stunning Highlawn Pavilion wedding in West Orange, NJ. It was a cold, overcast day, but a little rain wasn’t going to stop these two. In fact, I don’t think anything could have put a damper on the occasion.
Emily and Adam’s Rainy Wedding at Highlawn Pavilion
This was such an amazing wedding to be a part of. Let me start off by saying this location was gorgeous! With more than 25 years of experience and over 100 years of history, Highlawn Pavilion is a premier destination for any wedding event. Lush, green landscapes accompanied by sprawling panoramic views of New York City give this location a simple elegance and sophistication rivaled by few. It was such a perfect backdrop for Emily and Adam’s wedding day.
Emily and Adam were surrounded by a lively group of friends and family as they tied the knot. No one seemed thrown off by the weather, including the groomsmen, who carried umbrellas down the aisle — just in case. There was love in the air and very few dry eyes in sight.

Family was very important to Adam and Emily. It was so surprising to me that they took the time after the ceremony to greet each and every guest personally. Even though the weather was chilly, it didn’t stop them from warmly greeting their loved ones before we headed inside.
The reception was held inside of the Italian style country home that is the Highlawn Pavilion. Even though I have never been to Italy, I felt transported there in this reception! The bride and groom were a fun and lively couple, so it only makes sense that the rest of the group knew how to have a good time! Dinner was fabulous and so was the dancing that followed. I’d like to give a special shout out to the bride’s father and Betsy, her sister. Together, they brought the heat with an extra hyped-up east coast style rap duet that shook the house down and really got the party started. Everyone loved it and cheered them on.
I had such a great time photographing this wedding. To Emily and Adam, I’d like to extend my warmest wishes and thanks for letting me be a part of your Big Day. I hope the years bring you nothing but happiness and love.
